Over the course of several months, the 558th Milltary Police Company has been reactivated. The official date of reactivation was October 16, 2008 at Schofield Barracks Hawaii. In reality, the unit was unofficially activated several months earlier. Following a  period of intensive qualification training, the unit performed regular line duty. Currently the 558th is engaged in training again. Sergeant First Class Adam Shaw, Platoon Sergeant of the 1st Platoon has been kind enough to provide some basic information regarding the activation and the unit's current status [November, 2008]. See below for a copy of SFC Shaw's e-mail.

E-Mail from First Class Adam Shaw, Platoon Sgt., 1st Platoon, 558th MP Co. USARPAC  / Dated November 2008

"The 558th MP Co. stood up on 16 October 2008 at Schofield Barracks Hawaii. There was no ceremony. The company works out of Helamano Military Reservation, about  ten minutes from Schofield Barracks. We are currently training until December, then we pick up the road through March. I don't have a public relations contact for you, but if you have any questions, let me know." SFC Shaw
